Bohol

Bohol is an island part of the Philippines (10th largest island in the Philippines). Famous for the the geological Chocolate Hills and their white sand beaches in Panglao.

Here is what we did in Bohol Philippines for the 3 nights we were day. This blog will include, our Travel to Bohol, Hotel we stayed at, Restaurants we ate at and activities we did (and where to book)

DAY 1

Ferry Details:

  • We booked a Ferry from Cebu -> Bohol
  • Transport: Ferry (OceanJet)
  • Booked through: 12GO app/website
  • Cost: £13.22 per person
  • Ferry was approximately 2 hours

Travel Advice (Transportation such as Ferries and Taxies):

  • There will be lots of people trying to sell you tickets for the ferry (scam). If you have already bought your ticket, you can just walk straight to Pier 1.
  • Download 12GO
  • Download Grab (similar to Uber but for South East Asia), useful but not widely used in Bohol

Arrival:

Once we arrived in Bohol, we booked a Grab taxi to our accommodation in Panglao

We stayed at Alona Whitehouse, which we booked through booking.com

I highly recommend this place, as it was very close to the centre (5 minute walk) and was affordable. Other things we enjoyed about our stay, was the lovely and friendly staff, who helped us with airport transportation back to the airport on our last day, as it is difficult to always get grab drivers, 700PHP for transport to airport.

After arriving from the airport, we were very tired and we mainly spent our day at Alona beach. Super beautiful, with blue water and soft sand. You can also book scuba diving.

Activities:

  • Alona Beach
  • Scuba diving at Alona Beach
  • NOTE: Add picture of beach

Restaurants:

  • Lunch we had Jolibees
  • Dinner: Neapolitans

Things to know:

  • Grab can be difficult in Bohol
  • Tuk Tuks are very common transportations
  • Panglao is great for beaches
